Goshawks are particularly aggressive raptors. In Doug McPheters’s acclaimed thriller, “Goshawk,” the Goshawk is an experimental jet aircraft invented by the book’s hero, David Garvey; it allows its pilot to put on a suit that makes his arms and hands feel like the plane’s wings and his feet like the plane’s tail feathers. Once in that suit, the pilot feels like he’s flying freely, up and down the caverns of the sky.
