Decarlos Brown, Jr., who murdered young Iryna Zarutska, a recent Ukrainian immigrant, with a pocket knife on a Charlotte, NC light rail train, has been ordered to undergo a 60-day mental health evaluation. The court is supposed to determine whether he is capable of standing trial. At the time of the murder, captured on video, Brown possessed an extensive criminal record with 14 arrests in the past 12 years, along with a history of mental health issues. Even a non-criminal lawyer is easily aware that Brown is not playing with a whole bag of marbles and would wonder why money and time would be spent concluding that he cannot be held accountable for his most recent crime.
Has anyone learned any new information about the attempted assassination of President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024? Interest in that crime seems to have faded away with the removal of DEI FBI officials and apparent satisfaction with the death of the shooter (who even remembers his name?) on a nearby rooftop. At the time of this blog, the murderer of Charlie Kirk (deceased on September 10, 2025) had already faced the beginning of trial proceedings in a trial court in the State of Utah.
